One to One Tutoring
Sturgeon Adult Learning is open to help Adult Learners from September until June each year.
We are here to help adults who want to improve their English reading, writing, listening or speaking skills.
We can assess your current reading and writing level and set goals for you.
This service is FREE and confidential.
Volunteer Opportunities
Volunteer Tutors are needed in every community in Sturgeon County.
Volunteers are placed with adult learners in your own community to reduce travel and make meeting your learner easier.
Please contact us if you are comfortable teaching others new things.
Kindness, patience and empathy for people wanting to improve their skills is a must.
Specific training is provided and support is given to ensure your volunteer experience is a positive and rewarding one.
Volunteer Tutors are trained with help and resources from NorQuest’s Rural Routes Initiative and receive regular professional development opportunities.
All resource materials are provided by Sturgeon Adult Learning.
We are always looking for volunteers to teach computer courses at our Local Libraries.
If you have the confidence to teach a basic computer or iPad course, please contact us.
Please call Chris at Sturgeon Adult Learning to discuss a volunteer position. (780) 923 – 2374.
